Background
Pawmigo is an app that is designed to connect people (who can't get a pet of their own) with pets (i.e. those with homes) and pets-to-be (i.e. animal shelter residents). The roles of this assignment were divided among group members, and the parts to which I contributed the most were the branding as well as generating ideas for services that the app offers.
Anecdotes & unique touches
I was inspired by two different styles when envisioning the brand. I wanted to encapsulate a simple, outlined app look, which my group member informed me is called neubrutalism. The other inspiration was the illustrator Margaret Bloy Graham, who illustrated the Harry the Dog book series. I really enjoy the thick, simple, yet distinct art style and I wanted to incorporate that in the Pawmigo brand. I even subconsciously chose a similar typeface to the books' for Pawmigo's headers!
